Music Teacher
Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking a Music Teacher. Responsibilities include:
Conduct music lessons as assigned and scheduled for students with disabilities
Independently develop and implement curriculum and assessments consistent with New York State (NYS) standards for music instruction
Adapt and modify instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote skill development in communication, social interaction, and engagement through music
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, instruments, and technology to enhance student participation and creativity
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support student goals and facilitate cooperative learning and cross-curricular skill development
Maintain accurate records of student progress and use data to inform instruction
REQUIREMENTS:
New York State Education Department Certification: Music
Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
SALARY: As per labor contract
