Bus Drivers

Hiawatha CUSD #426 is looking for several bus drivers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Monitors and maintains student conduct when students are on bus.
• Reports any student concerns to the transportation coordinator and building principals.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks bus (performs pre-trip inspection) before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the Transportation Coordinator in case of mechanical failure or lateness while on the route.
• Picks up and releases students only at authorized locations.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
• Enforces district policy on student behavior on buses.
• Attends training that is required by the school district (e.g. random drug testing, refresher course, etc.).
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
• Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader.
