Job Description
Job Purpose The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of the project activities to ensure successful and timely completion of the Project. The role shall provide strategic support to the project management team by delivering accurate project schedules, identifying risks, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop, review, and maintain the project baseline schedule using Primavera P6 in line with contract requirements and project scope. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to establish a comprehensive and realistic construction program. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to define work sequences, durations, and resource requirements. Identify potential risks, constraints, and critical activities, and propose mitigation measures to minimize project delays. Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and update plans regularly to reflect actual performance. Conduct critical path analysis and assess the impact of delays, variations, and unforeseen events on project timelines. Incorporate the changes and instruction in the approved schedule in liaison with the project teams and provide updated reports to the Project manager. Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for project management and stakeholders. Track and evaluate construction productivity and performance trends, recommending improvements where necessary. Support the preparation of recovery plans and revised schedules when required, inclusion of impacted programs, extension of time (EOT) evaluations, and relevant outputs derived from Primavera P6 analysis. Ensure proper documentation, version control, and maintenance of all planning and scheduling records.
