NOW HIRING: GRILL COOKS / LINE COOKS
The Shore and Country Club is currently seeking multiple skilled and dependable Grill Cooks / Line Cooks to join our culinary team for the season. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, thrive in a team-oriented kitchen, and enjoy working in a fast-paced yet professional club environment.
Located on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the Harbor and Long Island Sound, The Shore offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-quality culinary operation while being part of a supportive and energetic team culture.
These are full-time positions requiring evening and weekend availability throughout the Club season.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Grill Cooks / Line Cooks report directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and are responsible for preparing and executing grilled and broiled menu items during à la carte dining service, member events, and private functions.
The ideal candidates work well under pressure, value consistency and teamwork, and are committed to delivering high-quality food in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook grilled and broiled menu items to proper temperature, presentation, and portion standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked grill station throughout service
- Assist with food prep, station setup, and breakdown before and after service
- Communicate inventory needs and shortages to culinary leadership
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Support fellow kitchen team members during high-volume service periods
- Assist with banquet and special event culinary operations as needed
- Maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency during all services
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of grill or line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant, club, or hospitality environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of grill temperatures, meat temperatures, and cooking techniques
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced kitchen
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the season
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required
- Passion for hospitality and the culinary arts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
