Maintenance Supervisor
The Shore and Country Club is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Supervisor to support the daily operation, maintenance, and safety of all club facilities. This position assists in maintaining the high standards expected in a private club environment and helps ensure that all buildings, grounds, and recreational areas are safe, clean, and operating efficiently for the enjoyment of our members and guests.
This is a hands-on supervisory role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example while working closely with the maintenance and grounds team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily oversight of maintenance operations for all club facilities, including dining areas, tennis courts, swimming pools, boating docks, and surrounding grounds.
- Supervise and work alongside maintenance staff to complete repairs, preventative maintenance, and daily assignments.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper working condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related issues.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
- Assist with the preparation and breakdown of club events, ensuring facilities are properly set and maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with seasonal preparation, special projects, and general repairs throughout the property.
- · Monitor maintenance supplies and equipment and report needs as appropriate.
- · Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the club.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of maintenance, facilities, or building operations experience required
- Experience in a private club, hospitality, resort, or recreational setting preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and safe work procedures
- Valid driver’s license required
- Trade certifications (pool operation, HVAC, electrical, etc.) are a plus
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance when necessary
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced club environment
