Job Summary (Essential Functions):

The Server is responsible for providing exceptional dining service to members and guests while upholding the standards of The Shore and Country Club. This position ensures an elevated dining experience through attentive service, detailed product knowledge, and professional conduct. Servers are expected to deliver timely and accurate food and beverage orders, maintain a polished and welcoming environment, and contribute to smooth operations in all dining outlets.

We are hiring for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions. We are looking for candidates who are available to work 35-40 hours per week. Ability to work on weekends and holidays during the season is a must.

Job Tasks/Duties:

  • Greets members and guests promptly and courteously; provides menu explanations and recommendations.
  • Takes accurate food and beverage orders and enters them into the POS system.
  • Serves meals and drinks in accordance with club standards and timing guidelines.
  • Monitors tables and anticipates member needs throughout the dining experience.
  • Practices responsible alcohol service and adheres to all club policies.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of service stations, dining rooms, and assigned areas.
  • Completes daily side-work duties, including restocking and preparing service areas.
  • Coordinates effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and special requests.
  • Handles member concerns calmly and professionally, alerting management when needed.
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of dining rooms for regular service and special events.
  • Performs opening and/or closing duties, including cleaning, resetting, and securing service areas.
  • Follows all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
  • Supports special events and banquet service as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Supervisor or Clubhouse Manager.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Required to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Fast-paced environment with exposure to hot surfaces, sharp tools, and varying noise levels.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours depending on service needs.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and one year of experience in restaurant or hospitality service; or
  • Any combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Prior country club or banquet service experience preferred.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, table settings, and dining room procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to provide warm, attentive, and professional service at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergies, and club offerings; ability to make informed recommendations.
  • Ability to follow opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities consistently.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and member satisfaction.
  • Works collaboratively with peers, kitchen staff, and management.

 

Licenses and Special Requirements:

  • ServSafe Food Handler or equivalent certification preferred.
  • TIPS or responsible alcohol service certification preferred.
