Job Description
Help residents feel confident with everyday technology
At Anglicare Sydney, we support older Australians to live with dignity, independence and connection. Technology plays an important role in that — and that’s where you come in.
This role is about people first.
You’ll spend your days helping residents feel comfortable and confident using everyday technology — patiently answering questions, explaining things simply, and providing hands-on technology assistance.
This role would suit someone who has a strong ability to listen, reassure, explain and support.
Your opportunity
Part-time (3 Days per week) | Onsite – Warriewood Brook Retirement Village
As an IT Tech Bar Consultant, you’ll be the go-to technology support person for residents at our Warriewood Village. You’ll provide technical support, promote digital literacy, and build confidence in the use of everyday technology. By delivering patient, person-centred tech support, you’ll enhance the wellbeing and independence of those we serve.
With integrity and patience, you will:
Support residents with everyday technology: (Mobile phones, tablets, apps, TV’s, emails, entertainment systems)
Provide calm, one-on-one assistance at the resident’s pace
Run small group sessions to help residents build confidence with technology
Be a friendly, approachable presence residents feel comfortable asking for help
Escalate more complex IT issues to central IT or external vendors when needed
Keep records of support provided and devices in use
What you’ll bring
You are a patient communicator who can translate technology into simple, practical steps for residents and staff. You thrive on solving problems and helping others feel confident in the digital space.
This role is perfect for someone who:
Is patient, warm and people-focused
Enjoys helping others learn and feel confident
Can explain things slowly, clearly and without jargon
A genuine interest in supporting older people
Is comfortable with technology and IT systems
Confident with MS Office skills and general enterprise system knowledge
Ideally, you will also have:
Experience delivering training to non-technical users.
Audio/Video conferencing support knowledge.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Valid current driver's licence
