Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, software engineering, or platform engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing technical teams
3+ years of experience building data pipelines and platform integrations for marketing, commercial analytics, or digital experience teams; pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
Deep hands-on expertise with the modern data stack: Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and cloud-native orchestration tools (Astronomer/Airflow)
Production experience with CDP architectures, including Salesforce Data Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, or equivalent composable CDP implementations
Strong software engineering fundamentals: Python, SQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices
Experience with AWS services (Bedrock, SageMaker, S3, Lambda) in a production environment
Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted technical partner to non-technical business stakeholders, particularly in marketing and commercial functions
Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements including GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and MLR review processes as they apply to marketing data and technology
Experience with identity resolution, consent management, and privacy-by-design architectures in a regulated industry
Familiarity with the Veeva ecosystem (Vault PromoMats, CRM) and its data integration patterns
Background in real-time personalization engineering, including A/B testing infrastructure (Adobe Target) and journey orchestration platforms
Experience with multi-touch attribution modeling and marketing mix analytics data products
AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification
Prior experience in rare disease, specialty pharma, or biotech commercial operations
Track record of recruiting and developing engineering talent from non-pharma industries (financial services, technology, consumer digital)
Travel: Minimal; occasional travel to vendor conferences (Google, AWS) and team offsites
