Compensation: $17.00 – $20.00/hour (DOE)
Start Date: Summer 2026
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
This is not a remote position.
Position Overview
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.
AMS is seeking a detail-oriented and student-centered Health Technician to join our team at the Nellis Campus in Las Vegas.
The Health Technician plays a critical role in managing daily student health services, ensuring compliance with state and school requirements, and maintaining accurate health records. This role collaborates closely with school staff, families, and external partners to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Student Health Services
Provide care for students who are injured or ill, including basic first aid and assessment.
Notify parents/guardians when necessary and document all health office visits.
Administer medications in accordance with AMS policies and Nevada state regulations.
Maintain secure and compliant storage of all prescription and non-prescription medications.
Health Records & Compliance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records, including immunizations, screenings, and visit logs.
Ensure all health documentation is compliant, accurate, and audit-ready.
Conduct required hearing and vision screenings and submit reports to appropriate agencies.
Support compliance tracking, reporting, and preparation for audits.
Conduct periodic health office audits and analyze trends to support program improvement.
Operations & Campus Support
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized health office environment.
Monitor inventory of medical supplies and coordinate timely ordering and restocking.
Serve as a liaison between the school and external health agencies and partners.
Participate in required campus and network meetings, trainings, and compliance activities.
Support additional operational needs as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies
Required
Medical Assistant Certification (required)
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification
Ability to successfully complete required Nevada state background checks and clearances
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school-based, pediatric, or clinical setting
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience working in a Title I or high-need school environment
Experience with health compliance reporting or state health requirements

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
