Full Time 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Associate
Youth Mental Health and Technology Team and contribute to a research project of national significance for youth mental health
Base Salary $121,054 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre is a centre for discovery, innovation and integrative research strategies, clinical product development and actions that translate research into improved treatment and disease prevention strategies. The centre is made up of 27 research units, staffed by around 200 researchers and 100 students.
The youth mental health and technology team puts young people at the centre of their own care. We partner with health services to develop innovative treatments for those aged 12-25 with emerging mental health disorders. The integration of cutting-edge research with safe and effective clinical care enables us to quickly and effectively translate our research findings into clinical services, facilitating continuous improvements to mental health services for the benefit of young people in Australia.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Youth Mental Health and Technology Team and contribute to a research project of national significance for youth mental health and working on a national clinical trial in circadian disturbances.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
undertake analysis of clinical, biological, and behavioural data and work as part of a collaborative team working at the intersection of circadian science, data science and psychology/psychiatry to guide better assessment, classification, and intervention in young people with emerging mental disorders
assist with collection of clinical, biological, and behavioural data as part of ongoing research cohorts and clinical trials
assist with the preparation of project reports, conference presentations, and journal manuscripts (including data management/preparation, statistical analysis, visualisation, and writing)
assist with the preparation of grant applications (institutional, national, and/or international schemes).
About you:
a PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications neuroscience, psychology, and/or data science
experience in clinical research with strong data analytic skills who is interested in training in the application of data-driven and longitudinal techniques to large mental health data sets
a strong applied research and service orientation with a proven ability to build successful working relationships with a variety of people, both internal and external
knowledge and / or experience in quantitative and qualitative methods relevant to mental health and/or sleep/circadian research
proven high level analytical skills and a methodical approach to data management, and analysis
strong interpersonal and communication skills.
clinical trials experience
experience working with R and RedCap.
