The Kwasek Lab needs to a lab technician to work in the aquaculture facilities and support the research efforts in form of aquaculture system construction, execution of fish trials as well as general lab. Other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities
Fish husbandry
Fish culture system construction
Fish feeding
System maintenance
Water quality recording
Feed preparation
General system maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Detail oriented and able to work independently. Capable of working in lab. Prior experience working in aquaculture lab preferred.
Undergraduate degree preferred (student working towards the degree is also acceptable especially if prior work experience in aquaculture is demonstrated)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of aquaculture systems, water chemistry, experience with system maintenance and/or construction, sense of responsibility, strong work ethic, familiarity with using tools (drill, saw, other power tools).
Preferred Qualifications:
BA/BA PREFERRED
Prior experience working in aquaculture facility.
