Job Description

The Bethel School District is seeking applicants who have the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT:
Support the academic and social needs of the students and families of the school. Assignment includes classroom, small group and individual work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid and appropriate ESA certification as counselor or social worker.
Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Successful experience working with students through Professional Learning Communities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS:
Prior experience with and/or knowledge of the role of the social worker preferred.
Ability to conduct parent training.
Ability to conduct individual/group casework with students.
Experience in working with physically and sexually abused children.
Ability to function as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team/504 committee.
Experience in behavior contracting.
Background in substance abuse prevention.
Background in suicide prevention.
Background in anger management.
Ability to develop and follow an organizational plan.
Knowledge/experience working in areas of: substance abuse prevention/intervention, child abuse, ADD/ADHD, suicide prevention/intervention, violence prevention education (Second Step), grant writing, parent support and education, and anger management.
Provide guidance in IEP writing.
