Multiple full-time roles available, both ongoing and temporary, working 35 hours per week. Location: This role is based in Sydney CBD. Flexible and hybrid working options available. Legal Officer Grade I-III: Level. Base salary $79,322 p.a. to $134,458 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading. About the team The Legal, Governance and Risk division provides a wide range of enabling services including legal, genealogy, governance risk and compliance, information and privacy, and policy and performance. About the role The primary purpose of the role is to manage assigned legal matters, including advice, transactions and litigation, within a specialist practice group, to deliver high-quality, cost effective and customer focused legal services that support the agency’s purpose and functions. There are roles available in the Estate Management, Estate Administration and Project Team practice groups. The Estate Management Practice Group is primarily responsible for appearing in Supreme Court Protective List proceedings and matters before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, as well as managing a broad range of legal matters affecting customers whose estates are under management, including equitable remedies, personal injury, family law and administrative law. The Estate Administration practice group primarily deals with succession and trust law matters, including family provision claims, will construction, testamentary capacity claims, informal document applications, applications for judicial advice, matters pertaining to trusts, litigation relating to all estate and trust matters and general advice. The Project Team supports both practice groups providing technical advice and support for complex legal matters or issues and undertakes individual, and groups of matters related to both functions. We are looking to establish a talent pool for future ongoing and temporary roles that may become available within the next 18 months. About you As a Solicitor, you will have highly developed legal skills and experience to manage assigned matters within the relevant practice area. The role requires the ability to appear before courts and tribunals and to manage complex, contentious and sensitive legal and administrative matters. The roles require the ability to build trust, respect, and effective communications and relationships with customers. The roles also require the ability to maintain knowledge across a wide range of relevant areas of law to meet increasing demand for services and respond to competing and urgent demands. Essential requirements Completion of a law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law Course. Admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW and have a current NSW practicing certificate.
