Multiple temporary (24 month) full-time or part time job share vacancies. 35 hours per week. Location: City, Parramatta, Wollongong, Gosford, Newcastle. Flexible and hybrid working options available. Clerk Grade: Level 7/8. Base salary $ 113,574 p.a. to $ 125,720 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading. About the team The Public Guardian can be appointed by a court or tribunal to make health and lifestyle decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support. These include decisions such as where a person might live, their medical and dental treatment, health care, and other services. It also provides information and support to private and enduring guardians, service providers and the wider community. Service Delivery operational teams provide our core guardianship service across the state. Practice and Strategy teams provide systemic advocacy, stakeholder engagement and support both customers and employees in their practice of guardianship. Establishment and Quality Assurance teams provide responsive onboarding for new guardianship matters. About the role As Principal Guardian, you will deliver high-quality guardianship services for people who require support with health and lifestyle decision ‑ making. The role focuses on achieving positive, person ‑ centred outcomes through professional judgement, advocacy and effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders. You will manage a portfolio of complex and sensitive matters, working with represented people, families, carers, service providers and government agencies to resolve issues and progress appropriate options. This includes preparing clear reports and recommendations, participating in formal processes where required, and maintaining accurate and timely records. The role also has a strong leadership component. You will supervise, mentor and support Senior Guardians and other staff, providing guidance on complex cases and contributing to capability development and continuous improvement across the team. About you You are an experienced professional with a strong commitment to person-centred decision making and advoca cy for people in vulnerable circumstances. You bring sound judgement, emotional resilience and the ability to navigate complex and challenging situations with empathy and professionalism. You will also demonstrate: Experience in guardianship, advocacy, disability, health, social services or related fields Strong decision-making skills and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and standards Well-developed written communication skills, including preparing reports and submissions Confidence in supervising, mentoring and supporting staff The ability to influence, negotiate and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders A commitment to ethical practice, integrity and public sector values Highly Regarded Demonstrated knowledge of guardianship Sound like you?
