About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Leading Hand Maintenance Fitter to join our high-performing Maintenance Field team at Maules Creek. This is a rotating day/night shift work pattern, offering a great work-life balance. We have an ultra-class fleet of mining equipment including CAT and Hitachi machinery.
In this hands-on leadership position, you’ll play a key role in guiding and mentoring a team of fitters, driving safety, quality, and efficiency across the field operations. It’s the perfect opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role or further develop their frontline leadership capability
What You’ll Do
Lead and support a team of fitters, providing guidance and fostering a proactive “can do” culture.
Perform planned, breakdown and corrective maintenance activities in line with Whitehaven Coal’s safety standards and procedures.
Promote a safe work environment by ensuring incidents, hazards and risks are reported, investigated and managed appropriately.
Conduct equipment inspections and raise work orders for defective or worn components identified during maintenance activities.
Provide supervisory support during planned shutdowns to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Bring
Relevant Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Mechanical, Auto Electrical, Electrical or Heavy Fabrication)
Current, unrestricted NSW “C” Class Driver’s Licence
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead a team
Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
Extensive experience working with heavy equipment
