Job Description

Glenmore Park High School is a modern, co-educational, comprehensive high school in Western Sydney located in a community experiencing significant growth. The school has an enrolment of approximately 950 students, 8% Aboriginal, and includes a special education unit of eight classes. The school provides excellent opportunities for individual student success in a caring educational environment. Through our extensive connections we are able to provide holistic, innovative, supportive educational opportunities for all our students.

We achieve this through quality teaching and inspirational, unique learning experiences. The school is recognised for its exceptional well-being and extra curricular programs. The school's facilities are extensive and include a new, state of the art Performing Arts and Learning Centre.

In addition to the general selection criteria:

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead inclusive education programs for diverse learners, including students in support classes, using performance, behavioural and wellbeing data to design targeted interventions that ensure equitable access and drive improved student outcomes including curriculum access.
     
  2. Proven experience in collaborating with parents/carers and multidisciplinary support services (such as allied health, counselling, and specialist teachers) to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in a large secondary school setting.
     
  3. Ability to lead and foster a school wide culture of authentic Inclusion and Disability support through collaboration, professional development, mentoring and school excellence that results in embedded Inclusive practice. 
     
  4. Thorough knowledge of legislative and departmental policies related to student inclusion, disability, and support services, ensuring the school’s practices comply with all relevant regulations and standards to underpin school wide inclusive practice.
     
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
