About the role:

The COO Domain encompasses Technology, Operations, Security & Monitoring, Financial & Economic Crime, Shared Services & the Chief Product Owner (CPO) function.

The CPO Regulatory & Risk department is currently seeking a Senior Business Analysts to join the team in Sydney. In this role, you will leverage your experience delivering non-financial or operational risk projects to lead business analysis activities across key regulatory & risk initiatives within the bank. You will work collaboratively within a Squad or delivery team & may also provide guidance & mentoring to junior business analysts, testers & other team members, ensuring high-quality business analysis outcomes & effective delivery of agreed objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Develop & manage the business analysis approach, plan & deliverables, reporting progress, risks & dependencies to the Product Owner & senior stakeholders
  • Identify & engage key stakeholders, facilitate workshops & senior working groups, & build strong relationships to validate outcomes & provide strategic, enterprise‑level input
  • Contribute to defining initiative scope, objectives & outcomes, undertaking discovery activities including regulatory analysis, gap analysis & synergies
  • Produce business requirements, user stories & functional specifications to support policy, process, organisational, digital & data change initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of target operating models (TOMs) & solution options in collaboration with architecture, Product Owners & Product Leads, providing clear recommendations
  • Support implementation through quality assurance of solutions, UAT/BAT, process & policy updates, training materials, & broader change activities
  • Maintain end‑to‑end traceability, assurance & reporting (including board & committee materials), ensuring all documentation meets organisational & banking framework standards

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience as a Risk Business BA delivering complex non-financial risk initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Australian & New Zealand banking regulations, covering APRA, ASIC, RBNZ, FMA, AUSTRAC, & relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex, multi‑workstream initiatives within an agile delivery environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal, collaboration & communication skills with the ability to influence effectively
  • Proven stakeholder engagement & requirements management expertise with a focus on delivering clear, high-quality outcomes
