The role:
Rabobank Financial Economic Crime is seeking a Senior Analyst - Screening to be based in Sydney. In this role you will play a pivotal role in Rabobank’s efforts to safeguard the bank from financial crime & sanction risks through end-to-end management of name screening alerts & other ad-hoc tasks as required. This typically involves screening for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), Adverse Media & Sanctions, ensuring alerts are triaged, assessed & resolved in a timely & accurate manner.
As Senior Analyst you will act as a key liaison for internal & external stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise. The role requires a strong understanding of AML/CTF & Sanction obligations, financial crime typologies, & regulatory expectations across ANZ.
Top Role Accountabilities:
- Complete end-to-end Customer & Related Party Screening, including PEP, Adverse Media and Sanctions alerts, within SLA & to a high standard
- Support process controls, BAU activities, escalations & incident investigations
- Identify, assess & mitigate financial crime risks
- Contribute to team training & reinforcement of screening practices
- Partner with the Name Screening Alert Handling Lead to develop & design new screening rules based on intelligence-led risk indicators
- Test new & existing rules with analytics to validate effectiveness
- Regularly review & maintain the accuracy & performance of name screening rules
- Help manage & update the name screening rule library
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across screening processes
- Assist with reporting, data analysis, controls & findings
- Support execution of the FEC Operations program, ensuring compliance & strong risk management
- Building relationships with key stakeholders & act as the primary contact for PEP, Adverse Media and Sanctions Name Screening.
To be successful you will have:
- A minimum of 3 + years’ experience in Screening, KYC & financial crime
- Working knowledge of the requirements under the AML/CTF Act
- An understanding of PEP & AM screening requirements
- An ability to draft policies, procedures, & management reports
- An ability to work on confidential & sensitive matters with professionalism & discretion
- An ability to prioritise tasks & meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- An ability to provide ‘on the job’ coaching & to colleagues
- Influencing & stakeholder engagement skills
