ATHLETIC COACH - HIGH SCHOOL
PAYROLL GRADE: 13 FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and disciplined High School Wrestling Coach to lead and develop our wrestling program within a Catholic school environment. The coach will foster athletic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth, while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect in alignment with the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and competitions for the wrestling program.
- Teach fundamental and advanced wrestling techniques, strategies, and conditioning.
- Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials.
- Model and reinforce Catholic values, including integrity, humility, and service.
- Monitor and support the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic association regulations.
- Maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice facilities.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and administration.
- Coordinate team logistics, including scheduling, travel, and supervision at events.
- Support off-season training and development opportunities as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Previous wrestling coaching experience or competitive wrestling background preferred.
- Knowledge of wrestling techniques, training methods, and safety practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of required clearances and background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience coaching at the high school level.
- Familiarity with state athletic association rules and regulations.
- Experience working in a faith-based or educational setting.
Compensation:
- Stipend based on experience and school guidelines.
