Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Clinical Oversight
Oversee all clinical and personal care services provided to residents.
Conduct or supervise initial and ongoing resident assessments.
Develop, review, and update individualized care plans.
Ensure timely response to changes in residents’ health conditions.
Coordinate care needs with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise nursing and caregiving staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures, and resident care standards.
Facilitate ongoing training in areas such as medication management, safety, and resident rights.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure adherence to state and federal assisted living regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation and resident records.
Conduct quality assurance audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Prepare for and support state inspections and license renewals.
Resident & Family Relations
Serve as a primary contact for resident and family concerns or questions.
Communicate changes in resident condition or care plans promptly.
Promote a positive and supportive environment through regular interaction and relationship-building.
Operational Management
Oversee medication management programs and ensure safe administration.
Collaborate with the Executive Director on budgeting and staffing needs.
Participate in community programs, safety committees, and interdisciplinary meetings.
Support emergency preparedness planning and response efforts
Qualifications
Education & Experience
New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
3–5 years of experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of assisted living regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound clinical decisions.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
