Receiving, processing and checking of merchandise to verify the correctness of the shipment against all documentation.
Prepare documentation such as work orders, bills of lading and shipment orders to route materials.
Verification and data entry of all incoming material shipments.
Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifest, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
Contact carrier representatives to plan and to issue instructions for shipment and delivery of raw materials.
Communicate with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damage, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications and file freight claims.
Compute amounts, such as space available, storage, shipping and demurrage charges using a calculator or price list.
Maintain Raw Materials Receiving Calendar.
Monitor receiving materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
Additional responsibilities as requested by Supervisor/Manager.
