Overview
The Country Club of Asheville is seeking a Tennis Court Maintenance and Shop Associate to join our team.
This position has two facets. It is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors in the elements while helping maintain the tennis facility and courts to the highest standards. The position is also member-facing and plays an important role in assisting with the daily operations of the tennis shop and overall tennis facility experience.
Part-Time positions offer complimentary staff meal and limited access to Tennis and Golf facilities

Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Daily clay court grooming including sweeping, rolling, and lining
- Daily blowing of leaves and debris from all courts, pathways, and common areas
- Daily trash removal from courts and surrounding areas
- Daily replenishing of water coolers and cups
- Repairing and hanging windscreens as needed
- Wiping down and cleaning benches as needed
- Resetting furniture in common areas as needed
- Watering clay courts as needed
- Drying courts as needed
- Assisting with annual court resurfacing projects as needed
Tennis Shop
- Opening and closing the tennis shop
- Answering phones and responding to emails
- Booking courts and assisting members with reservations
- Helping create marketing materials for programs and upcoming events
- Assisting with monthly inventory
- Maintaining a clean and presentable shop environment at all times
- Assisting with merchandise orders, deliveries, and returns
- Stocking the beverage cooler
- Daily billing for lessons, clinics, camps, and other programming
Other Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional service to all members and guests
- Attending staff meetings as appropriate
- Attending company training and seminar events as appropriate
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, member-focused environment
- Basic computer and email skills preferred
- Tennis knowledge or previous tennis facility experience preferred, but not required
- Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, landscaping, or maintenance experience is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license preferred
