Education: Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Requires a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Shop environment, such as paper mill or fab shop, engineers, supervisors or leadsmen.
Prefer knowledge and experience with Paper Machine Roll Maintenance and Operation.
Experience with disassembly, repair, and assembly of plain press and suction paper rolls.
Applicant must have a working knowledge of formal quality systems such as ISO, QIT, TQM, etc.
Prefers a solid background with paper mill suction roll, bearing, journal, maintenance, and repairs.
Have ability to read detailed prints and the ability to generate professional engineering drawing for work performed using CAD software or traditional drafting methods using standard ANSI symbols and tolerances.
5-10 years’ experience in general supervisory role that would include strategic planning, resource allocation, man power modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
Experience in motivating, developing, and directing people as they work.
Experience in inspecting and evaluating the quality of products.
Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques.
Innovation and creativity in solving problems.
Basic Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
Basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
The job requires occasional travel.
