Job Summary

The Child Care Caregiver is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in their care. This role supports children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through structured activities and attentive supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times

  • Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum

  • Promote positive behavior and social skills through guidance and role modeling

  • Monitor and document developmental progress, behavior, and milestones

  • Support meal times, diapering, toileting, and naptime routines

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding child progress and concerns

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment per licensing and health standards

  • Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety protocols

  • Collaborate with other caregivers and staff to create a cohesive care team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous experience in a licensed child care setting preferred

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor with children

  • Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills

  • Passion for working with young children in a diverse, inclusive environment

Work Environment

  • Indoor/outdoor childcare center or classroom

  • Physically active role requiring constant supervision, engagement, and movement
