Meet The Team

The Cisco Wireless Radio Software team builds and integrates the low-level software that powers Wi-Fi radios across Cisco’s access point portfolio. We work closely with chipset vendors (e.g., Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek), platform teams, and system engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable wireless connectivity at scale.

Your Impact

As a Wireless Radio Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, integration, and validation of radio firmware and driver-level software. You will work across firmware, drivers, and system layers to enable Wi-Fi features and ensure seamless operation across the wireless stack.

We’re looking for engineers with strong fundamentals in wireless networking and embedded software, and an interest in understanding how radio systems work end-to-end.

In This Role, You Will

  • Contribute to development and integration of Wi-Fi radio firmware and drivers

  • Support implementation and validation of 802.11 features and protocols

  • Debug wireless issues across firmware, driver, and system layers

  • Analyze logs, traces, and packet captures to diagnose connectivity or performance issues

  • Collaborate with chipset vendors and internal teams for issue resolution

  • Assist in integrating radio software into system platforms and validating functionality

  • Use AI-assisted tools to improve debugging efficiency and development productivity

Minimum Qualification

  • Have an MS, or BS with ~2 years of experience in embedded systems or wireless software

  • Have strong programming skills in C/C++

  • Have good understanding of networking fundamentals and Wi-Fi basics (802.11)

  • Have experience or exposure to embedded Linux systems

  • Have strong debugging and analytical skills

  • Are interested in understanding wireless systems end-to-end (not just coding)

  • Are interested in AI-enabled engineering practices

Preferred Qualification

  • Exposure to radio firmware or driver development

  • Familiarity with chipset platforms (Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek)

  • Experience with tools like Wireshark or packet analysis

  • Basic understanding of wireless features (roaming, security, association, etc.)
