Job Description

Monday-Friday
This position is responsible for:
Assists the Corps officers and staff with the administration of Corps operations, functions, and duties; assists with general Corps programming; performs administrative duties; prepares statistical reports, organizes event planning and execution; initiates visitations, assists with Sunday School and Community Care Ministry and other Corps programs as needed. Plans, coordinates, and participates in outreach efforts and programs to assist individuals in the community. Provides or arranges for participant transportation to Corps sponsored services, events, and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, prepares leads, and evaluates specific youth ministries programs and other Corps ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings of Corps programs. Prepares, coordinates or assists with production of Christian program materials and newsletters, assists in Sunday School teacher development; ensures Sunday school classes have designated instructor; orders and distributes all Sunday school supplies to teachers as needed.
- Performs varied and/or routine administrative duties for the Corps office; prepares correspondence and bulletins; prepares or assists in preparing statistical reports related to the Community Care Ministry, Sunday School, Corps programming, and Visitation activities. Prepares and updates all Corps Roll books on a regular basis to ensure Corps Roll books are audit ready.
- Assists Corps Officer with development and evaluation of Corps programming; suggests alternative programming; develops program ideas and materials; evaluates overall program effectiveness; suggests and follows through on new program ideas.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, adding machine, etc. Ability and licensed to drive a vehicle. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, standing, walking and/or driving a vehicle. Duties may also require ability to lead and participate in recreational and/or athletic/sports programs. Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures and driving a vehicle in moderate to heavy traffic. Significant driving may be required in this position and as a result there may be exposure to hazardous road conditions.
- Associate degree in Business, Christian Education, or related field. AND
- Two years’ experience participating in ministerial work. OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Bonafide Occupational Qualification:
Must be a uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements
