Summary:
The Training Manager serves as the enterprise leader for the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of all training programs across production and non‑production functions.
Key Responsibilities:
This individual is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive training catalogue that enhances employee efficiency, supports progression opportunities, and ensures balanced and compliant training across the organization. The Training Manager evaluates, updates, and modernizes training content; drives standardization; and ensures the learning ecosystem meets evolving business and regulatory needs.
In addition to internal leadership, this role strategically partners with local colleges, technical schools, workforce development organizations, and industry groups to strengthen talent pipelines and promote training excellence.
Training Strategy & Program Leadership:
Develop and execute an enterprise-wide training strategy aligned to operational goals, customer requirements, compliance expectations, and long-term workforce development needs.
Own the training roadmap for onboarding, skills development, cross-training, upskilling, and recertification across production and non‑production roles.
Lead training needs assessments, workforce capability planning, and curriculum modernization to maintain a current and effective training catalogue.
Catalogue Development & Learning Governance:
Build, maintain, and continuously improve a structured, scalable training catalogue that supports employee efficiency, talent development, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct regular program reviews and update training content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with internal standards and external regulations.
Ensure the training catalogue supports career progression models, role-based competency requirements, and enterprise learning pathways.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of trainers and on‑the‑job training (OJT) instructors.
Establish clear expectations, training delivery standards, and performance metrics.
Foster a culture of coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Training team.
Training Operations & Execution:
Oversee the delivery of instructor-led, OJT, and blended learning programs.
Ensure training materials, job aids, and standard work instructions are accurate, current, and easy to use.
Maintain audit‑ready training records and documentation in accordance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
Partner with Production and department leaders to schedule training in alignment with staffing, throughput, and operational priorities.
Quality, Safety & Compliance Integration:
Collaborate with Quality to address training- or skill-related root causes of defects, escapes, or corrective action requests (CARs).
Ensure safety training is delivered, documented, and reinforced consistently.
Monitor training-related quality and safety trends and implement corrective or preventive actions as needed.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Use data to identify training gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Implement modern learning methods such as digital learning, simulations, structured OJT, and LMS-enabled training experiences.
Drive standardization of training content and delivery across shifts, departments, and locations.
Cross-Functional & External Partnerships:
Partner with Operations, Quality, HR, Engineering, and other functional leaders to align training to business needs.
Ensure Ralliant training solutions are available and effective for non-production staff, including administrative, leadership, and technical roles.
Establish and maintain partnerships with local institutions and workforce organizations to strengthen talent pipelines, create training pathways, and enhance community engagement.
Support new product introductions (NPI) with training plans, readiness assessments, and competency alignment.
Represent the company during audits and customer reviews as the subject matter expert for training programs and capabilities.
Qualifications:
5 + years of experience in precision manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment.
2+ years leading training, production, or quality teams.
Demonstrated experience designing and managing structured training catalogues or enterprise learning ecosystems.
Proven track record of modernizing training programs to improve employee performance, operational efficiency, and compliance outcomes.
Strong understanding of AS9100 requirements and customer-driven compliance standards.
Experience with training program design, structured OJT, adult learning principles, and competency frameworks.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Organizational Development, or related field — OR 15 years of equivalent experience.
Certification in training, instructional design, or learning & development preferred.
Experience with LMS platforms, digital training tools, and electronic training records required.
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certifications are desirable.
