Job Description
Essential Job Function:
- Strategic Program & Portfolio Planning: Develops and maintains an integrated approach across project portfolios, defining priorities, scope, timelines, and key deliverables. Ensures alignment of project portfolios with organizational strategy, business objectives, and outcome realization.
- Portfolio Oversight & Performance Management: Oversees multiple concurrent projects, monitoring progress, interdependencies, risks, and benefits realization. Analyzes portfolio‑level performance metrics to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and optimize outcomes.
- Resource & Financial Optimization: Manages budget performance and resource allocation across project portfolios, balancing capacity, cost, and priorities. Partners with finance and leadership to resolve funding conflicts, address variances, and ensure efficient utilization of shared resources.
- Stakeholder & Governance Management: Acts as a primary point of coordination for program governance, engaging sponsors and senior stakeholders to review portfolio health, resolve trade‑offs, and support decision‑making. Provides concise portfolio‑level reporting, insights, and recommendations aligned to leadership needs.
- Risk, Dependency & Issue Resolution: Proactively identifies and manages cross‑project risks, dependencies, and competing priorities across portfolios. Facilitates issue resolution, escalates when appropriate, and drives alignment to maintain momentum and delivery commitments.
- Team Leadership: Possess the ability to motivate and guide teams, build consensus, and make informed decisions
- Budget Management: Monitors program budgets, tracking underlying project expenses for equipment, supplies, and contracted services, while working closely with the finance department to ensure financial compliance and cost-efficient program execution. Identifies cost variances and takes corrective actions to stay within budget constraints.
- Communication management: Communicates and strategizes with program and portfolio sponsors to formulate meeting agendas. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse stakeholders
Facilitates communications and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, including hospital departments, physicians, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to address program-related concerns, obtain necessary approvals. - Regularly creates and presents program and portfolio reports, including status updates, performance metrics, and key insights to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, team members, and clients.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program and portfolio, works seamlessly with diverse teams from different departments to ensure program execution.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:
- Required: 7-10 years in project management
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: PfMP, PMP, Lean, and/or SCM certification.
