Job Description
Summary:
The Nurse Manager be responsible for the 24-hour nursing coverage of all units & programs included at Alliance Wellness Campus (Adult, C&Y, CSU, CAC, Detox, Respite). The person occupying this position will be responsible for all nurse (RN, LPN, CMA, Mental Health Technicians) functions at the Wellness Centers including CAC, CSU, Detox, and Respite.
Education Requirement:
Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience Requirement:
Must be eligible for any/all credentialing required by regulatory and funding sources.
Previous experience working in a crisis setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
Registered Nurse license in the state of TN. (TN compact licenses are acceptable)

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule management to ensure 24-hour nursing staff coverage for both crisis programs
- Manage time and attendance of nursing staff
- Collect and revies operational data.
- Maintain and updated position control
- Complete interviews and initiate the hiring process.
- Mange retention and turnover for nursing staff and make recommendations to Human Resources and management of changes that may be needed.
- Monitor agency nurse utilization.
- Regularly meet with Nursing staff to monitor their professional development and goals.
- Review nursing documentation for completion and clinical appropriateness.
Performance reviews
- Ensure the completion of nursing staff performance evaluations.
- Ensure all medical equipment is ordered, working, stored appropriately on floor.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Complete direct patient care as required.
- Actively participate in the weekly Crisis Management meeting.
- Regularly review medical content (including nurse notes, use and delivery of medication, and all medical interventions) completed by Crisis frontline nurse and CMA staff by completing/overseeing Quality Audits as requested by Quality and Training Manager.
- Make recommendations to Quality and Training Manager on requested trainings to improve processes, efficiency, and operations on the floor.
- Complete discipline as needed for Nursing staff and other crisis staff when requested by another Manager (two supervisors in one formal discipline meeting is required).
- Work collaboratively with other Crisis Managers to ensure goals of the Crisis Continuum are met.
- Work in rotation as Administrator on Call for Crisis.
- Review and provide recommendations after all incident reviews.
- Understand and monitor medication use and outcomes for all crisis patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of management and organization, and knowledge of the professional disciplines.
- Training and/or experience in the administration of mental health programs.
- Demonstrated administrative and supervisory ability.
- Ability to work with conflicting or competing demands or interests of clients, employees, sponsors in the distribution of work, evaluating work and program effectiveness.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and auditing.
- Job requires individual judgment in patient care and case disposition, and in-program administration.
- Ability to work effectively in a crisis service delivery setting dealing with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis and detox/withdrawals from substances.
- Ability to use effective judgment in problem resolution.
Supervision Provided by this Job:
Directly supervise all Crisis nursing staff (RN, LPN, CMAs and Mental Health Technicians.)
Physical Demands/Conditions:
Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.").
