Summary:
Provide personal care assistance to patients under the direction of licensed personnel and /or Administrator.
Education Requirement:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program
Experience Requirement:
None
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
- Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
- BLS/CPR certification required
Key Job Responsibilities:
- To assess the needs and problems of individual clients.
- To participate in the development of treatment for clients.
- To complete documentation within required Center time frames.
- To chart information.
- Attend clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
- Build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
- Follow Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
- Check height, weight, temperature and blood pressure
- Calling in Prescriptions to Pharmacies
- Collect Laboratory Specimens
- Maintaining Patient Medical Records
- Updating Patient Files
- Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Superior customer service skills
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: In order to appropriately accomplish his/her duties, the person occupying this position must maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of clinical staff people; support staff; management and clients of Alliance Healthcare Services.
Supervision Provided by this Job:
- There are no lead or supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
Physical Demands/Conditions:
Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.").
