Job Description

Location: Hung Hom

Employment period: 1-year contract (For internal application, only short-term employment contract’s terms and condition will be offered for this position regardless of job applicant’s current job category)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relevant domain, conducting user requirement analysis, end-to-end system design, system enhancements, and troubleshooting, ensuring solutions are aligned with business and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with vendors and service providers for solution planning, service delivery, and technical support, and ensure deliverables meet agreed quality, timelines, and expectations.
  • Lead and guide junior IT staff (analysts, associates) on project delivery and system support (if necessary)
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing support of IT systems which are crucial to CLP’s business operations, particularly those related to the Generation and Power System. Key systems include but are not limited to:
  • Integrated Commodity Management System
  • Generation & Emission Optimization and Fuel Forecast System
  • Unit Commitment System
  • Asset Health Management System
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems, including incident management coordination, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Participate in and be accountable for various system lifecycle activities including planning, design, development, deployment, testing, training, system cutover and rollout, documentation, maintenance, and support.
  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security standards, and governance / audit requirements, with proper documentation maintained.

 

Requirements

  • A recognized university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines. Master’s degree in related domain is desirable.
  • 6-8 years of IT service experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered for junior role.
  • Extensive project implementation and vendor management experience across different cloud service models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
  • Experience in supporting critical systems and working effectively under pressure (e.g., 7x24 incident response and management)
  • Good communication skills with demonstrated ability in vendor, change, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive, performance driven and results oriented.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, fluent in Mandarin is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience or knowledge in the following areas:
  • IT applications in utilities or energy sectors.
  • Technologies including .NET, .NET Framework, JavaScript, PowerShell, Microservices, MS Power Platform, T-SQL, RDBMS.
  • Cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud.
  • System integration across different cloud services models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and different integration approaches.
  • IT system troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Domain knowledge in Generation and Power Systems is highly desirable
  • Knowledge / experience in DevOps, Test Automation, FinOps and AI concept / adoption is highly desirable
