Applications are invited for the above vacancy in Generation Engineering Department of our Generation Business Group. Reporting to the Project Control Manager or Project Manager, the appointee will be planning, monitoring, and controlling the performance of strategic key projects, with a primary focus on schedule development and management. The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:
- Schedule Management (Primary Focus):
- Build and maintain detailed, logic-linked schedules for multiple projects, including WBS development, critical path analysis, scenario planning, and progress monitoring.
- Track schedule variances, support recovery or acceleration plans, produce regular schedule reports and dashboards, and ensure schedule baselines stay aligned with scope, cost, and change control.
- Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into one coherent schedule framework to support effective project delivery.
- Cost & Budget Control:
- Assist in preparing baseline budgets, cost breakdowns, and cost control frameworks.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identify variances, and support forecast updates.
- Prepare cost reports and coordinate with teams to ensure data accuracy.
- Project Monitoring and Control:
- Support project risk identification, assessment, tracking, and mitigation planning with project teams.
- Support change control by reviewing, documenting, and tracking changes and their impacts on scope, schedule, and cost.
- Monitor KPIs, prepare project reports, and support stakeholder reporting and timely corrective actions.
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance or equivalent plus at least 5 years of experience of experience in project controls, planning, or related roles within the energy and/or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in schedule development and control for multi-disciplinary and multi-project environments.
- Solid understanding of cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience with project change control and risk management processes.
- Familiarity with contract types and their implications on schedule and cost (e.g., EPC, lump sum, reimbursable).
- Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) is essential.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with cost control / project controls tools is an advantage.
- Strong PowerPoint skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Power BI dashboard development is an advantage.
- Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) techniques.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, able to present complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural project teams.
