Job Description

Food Preparation: Washing and preparing ingredients, preparing sandwiches, salads and hot foods; portioning meals according to standards; and ensuring food is attractive and served at the correct temperature. Serving and Customer Interaction: Setting up buffet stations, arranging tableware, serving food and beverages, taking orders, and addressing guest inquiries or complaints during events. Some evenings and weekends may be required to meet the needs of the event. Event Support: Assisting with event setup and breakdown, replenishing food items, and helping management plan and organize catering events Cleaning and Hygiene: Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment; washing utensils, trays, and machinery; and ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations Participate as a member of the food services team in ensuring that all areas of storage and food preparation are neat and clean, support and staff events as needed, attend team meetings and participate in cafe' projects as requested. Scheduling will reflect the needs of the college. Inventory and Stock Management: Receive, check and put away deliveries, storing food and supplies correctly, rotating stock, taking inventory, and let manager know of any supplies that need to be ordered. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring catering equipment such as ovens, microwaves, and cooling units are functioning properly by reporting any defects or temperature malfunctions to supervisor immediately. Prepare and deliver food to Starbucks cafes as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
