POSITION: Mind-Body-Soul Project Coordinator (Grant funded position subject to termination upon loss of grant funding. No felonies or convictions for crimes of moral turpitude including but not limited to forgery, fraud, embezzlement, or theft in any jurisdiction.) 

SALARY: $30.88 - 41.73/hourly 

REPORTS TO: Program Manager 

LOCATION: Nespelem, WA 

Basic Functions: This position is responsible for the implementation of a strategic plan for the youth at risk of behaviors that cause harm to the youth, their families and the community at large. This position serves as a collaborative of team stakeholders across many tribal and county agencies concerned with Native youth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

  • The position requires an AA degree and two (2) years of experience providing administrative support and/or project coordination with knowledge of reservation lifestyle and practice.
  • Must submit transcripts related to formal education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • The position requires knowledge of research methods, statistics and data entry.
  • Requires knowledge of and technological competency with various software programs like Word Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Requires strong written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with project management strategies.
  • Requires knowledge and experience developing and maintaining positive, fair, and professional relationships with co-workers, peers, collaborative partners, and government agencies.
  • Requires knowledge and experience in shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Requires knowledge and experience working both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environment. 
  • Requires the ability to perform duties required to manage grant and foster a professional relationship with grantor.
  • Requires the ability to follow Statements of Work (SOW), develop and manage a fiscal budget.
  • Requires ability to perform annual, quarterly, and impromptu status reports based on grant guidelines or as needed for supervisor or Council.
  • Requires ability to speak in large crowds; non-averse to public speaking.
  • Requires ability to create agendas, minutes, correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Requires ability to learn, understand, and apply Tribal and agency rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Requires ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Requires ability to use a personal computer to produce correspondence, information materials, and conduct basic research.
  • Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information.
  • Requires the ability to maintain productive and cooperative relationships with elders, co-workers, tribal employees, external organizations, and the public using patients and courtesy.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written format.
  • Requires ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.

Physical Abilities:

  • The position incumbent must be able to function indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. 
  • Requires ambulatory ability to sit for extended periods of time, to utilize microcomputers and peripheral equipment, and to move about various campus locations.
  • Requires the ability to use near vision to read printed materials. 
  • Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone. 
  • Requires the ability to retrieve work materials from overhead, waist, and ground level files. 
  • Requires sustained repetitive motions and manual and finger dexterity to write, use a pointing device, keyboard at an acceptable, operate microcomputer, and operate other office equipment. 

Licenses and Certificates: 

  • Requires a valid drivers’ license and must be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance.
  • Must provide copies of any additional licensure or certifications relevant to the position.

Working/Special Conditions:

  • Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments where there is some exposure to safety considerations when working with stakeholders and potential clients. 
  • Requires an extensive criminal background inquiry (Tribal, State, financial) and maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Must maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Position is safety sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug testing.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.

In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.

If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
