Summer Activity Camp: Theatre Instructor (Ballard Community Center)
If you have youth programming experience and a background in theatre instruction or performance, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Summer Activity Camp: Theatre Instructor at Ballard Community Center. This is a seasonal part‑time role with multiple opportunities to extend. It’s an excellent opportunity for a theatre artist or educator who enjoys working with young performers.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs. The Theatre Instructor at Ballard Community Center will guide participants through acting exercises, improvisation, character development, movement, and performance skills. Camp objectives include building confidence, encouraging creative expression, developing stage presence, and fostering collaboration in a supportive environment.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:45pm – 4:15pm

Summer Activity Camp: Theatre Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
- Create fun, engaging theatre lessons tailored to youth.
- Lead daily activities including improv, character creation, and short scenes.
- Prepare the classroom/stage area and reset it after each session.
- Identify needed props, supplies, or simple costume pieces.
- Maintain attendance and complete required reports.
Summer Activity Camp: Theatre Instructor requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience in theatre, acting, directing, or performing arts.
Pay:
$25.00-$26.00/hr
