
Financial Counselor
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Financial Counselor is responsible for maintaining communication with patients, facilities, insurance companies, and physicians on the patient liability prior to surgical procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Must sign off, retrieve, work SRS, and email messages daily regarding deductible and self-pay patients. Self-pay patient processes need to be completed upon receipt. Deductible patients' processes need to be completed at least two weeks in advance of procedure.
Essential Duties:
- Maintains contact with patients on out of pocket costs, self pay fees, deductibles, and co-insurance on surgeries.
- Maintains contact with insurance companies on patient costs for surgeries.
- Sustains open communication with physicians on status of patient surgeries.
- Corrects and updates patient demographic information.
- Corrects and updates patient insurance information.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED minimum education requirement
- Experience working with and interpreting medical insurance and benefits required
- One year minimum healthcare or related experience required
- Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite
Hours:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location:
- will train on site at 833 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
- will work remotely after training
- Employees with technical or performance issues may be required to work on site until corrected
Pay Range:
$19.00/hr - $23.00/hr
