Job Description
Position Summary
The Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site seeks an SCA member to support preservation, interpretation, and visitor engagement related to the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and Moton Field. The individual will collaborate with National Park Service staff on educational programs, cultural resource projects, visitor services, research, events, and basic maintenance. This position provides practical experience in public history and heritage preservation, offering professional development while contributing to aviation history.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily visitor services and interpretive programming at Tuskegee Airmen & Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site
- Provide guided tours and educational presentations to visitors and school groups
- Support special events, outreach activities, and commemorative programs
- Conduct historical research and assist with archival organization and documentation
- Support social media, educational materials, and public engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative duties as assigned
Marginal Duties
- Assist with inventory and supplies
- Attend staff meetings and trainings
- Support volunteer coordination and community partnerships
- Complete other tasks as needed for park operations
Required Qualifications
- Able to work independently or with a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Interacts professionally with diverse visitors, staff, and partners
- Interested in history, museum studies, education, conservation, or related fields
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or progress toward a degree in history, education, museum studies, public administration, communications, parks and recreation, or similar areas
- Experience in public speaking, interpretive programs, customer service, or working with the public
- Knowledge of National Park Service operations or historic preservation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, social media, or digital communications
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

Compensation
- Living Allowance: $600/week
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
