
Commercial Banking Relationship Specialist
Job Description
About the Position:
As the Commercial Banking Relationship Specialist, you will work closely with Commercial Banking, Relationship Managers and other team members assisting with customer-facing and ongoing new loan and servicing responsibilities associated with the entire Commercial Banking loan and deposit portfolio. You will interface directly with customers regarding all aspects of the relationship, including loans, deposits and credit cards.
What You Will Do:
Support Relationship Managers
- Assist Relationship Managers in all aspects of marketing, customer facing and account opening.
- Upload documents into nCino, including final boarding documents.
- Upload documents into Information Access (IA), including new account documents.
Due Diligence
- Confirm that all necessary conditions precedent to closing have been achieved.
- Conduct due diligence reviews such as sanctions checks, regulatory compliance verification, and entity validation through public and third-party sources.
- Perform collateral review as required in the Credit Approval Memorandum and file UCCs accordingly.
- Timely review and preparation of LaserPro documentation for loan closings, including, but not limited to, title work, flood search, UCC Search and Patriot Act documents.
- Execute initial quality control checks of closed loan documents to verify completeness and execution prior to processing.
Customer Support
- Support Relationship Managers by responding to inquiries and resolving questions related to loans, deposits and credit cards.
- Review daily overdraft listings and perform customer outreach to facilitate fund movement and minimize overdraft impact.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies defining application validity and customer qualification requirements.
Account Opening and Post Closing
- At the request of Customers, Officers and Treasury Management, open deposit accounts and set up ancillary products and agreements.
- Partner with Loan Servicing to ensure loans are boarded timely and correctly.
- Create accounts and open commercial credit cards for Commercial Banking customers upon receipt of signed credit approvals.
File Retention
- Ensure account opening documents are maintained in IA storage as required by Bank policy.
- Assist with maintenance of Loan Documentation in IA storage as required by Bank policy.
- Assist with maintenance of commercial credit card documentation in IA storage as required by Bank policy.
- Review documentation and collateral exceptions and place documentation in IA storage.
Documentation
- Ensure Commercial Fleet Finance documents are provided to all parties required.
- Lead the loan closing process for Commercial Fleet Finance through nCino.
- Assist in internal and external audit preparation by compiling all documentation in imaging system.
Collateral Perfection
- Complete monthly UCC and mortgage filings, and life insurance and vehicle lien assignments.
- Assist in monitoring monthly collateral exception reporting and clearing exceptions when needed.
- Ensure all loan closings have clean and free collateral standing for loan closings.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of two years of relevant banking experience required; experience in commercial lending and/or commercial deposit products preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in nCino and LaserPro, DocuSign, DNA, InfoAccess and collateral management systems preferred
- Knowledge of preparing department’s reports preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions/Demands:
- Professional office setting.
- Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
