Job Title: Banquet Captain 

Location: Hotel EMC2 
Department: Food & Beverage 
Reports To: Banquet Manager / Director of Food & Beverage 

 

Position Summary 

The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the execution of banquet and event services to ensure an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the innovative and elevated standards of Hotel EMC2. This role leads banquet staff, coordinates event logistics with Event Sales Manager, and serves as the primary point of contact during events to ensure seamless service delivery. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Event Execution & Leadership 

  • Lead and supervise banquet team members during events, ensuring service standards are met or exceeded 

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams during events

  • Ensure all banquet functions are set up according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and client specifications 

  • Oversee event flow, timing, and transitions to maintain a smooth guest experience 

Service Excellence 

  • Deliver attentive, anticipatory, and personalized service reflective of the Autograph Collection brand 

  • Address guest needs, special requests, and concerns promptly and professionally 

  • Maintain a visible and active presence on the floor during events 

Team Coordination & Training 

  • Train, mentor, and motivate banquet staff to uphold service standards 

  • Assign duties and responsibilities to team members based on event needs 

  • Ensure proper staffing levels and efficient labor management 

Operational Oversight 

  • Conduct pre-event briefings with staff to review event details, menu items, and service expectations 

  • Ensure all equipment, décor, and service ware are prepared and maintained 

  • Collaborate with culinary, sales, and operations teams for successful event execution 

  • Monitor cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout events 

Administrative Duties 

  • Review and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate details clearly to staff 

  • Assist with inventory control and reporting as needed 

  • Provide feedback and post-event evaluations to management 

 

Qualifications 

  • 2-3 years of banquet or hospitality leadership experience preferred 

  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage service standards 

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 

  • Professional appearance and demeanor
