As a Mortgage Loan Assistant, you will:

  • Maintain educational and professional expertise by completion of relevant on-line or in-house training, and/or through attendance at job related seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer account information. Follow established policies and procedures in responding to inquiries and requests.
  • Perform full range of duties pertaining to the loan processing/closing/servicing function, including, but not limited to the following: pull system inquiries to obtain credit history information on potential borrowers, answer customer inquiries, request appropriate documentation from borrowers and other team members as necessary, prepare processing and closing documents for new and refinanced loan closings.
  • Review files to ensure that proper documents and disbursements are prepared accurately for loan officer or assistant performing the closing.
  • Demonstrate ability to review files before and after closing to ensure that all documents clear conditions.
  • Review loan document requirements prior to and after loan closing in conformity with compliance requirements.
  • Complete loan disbursements for clients timely and accurately.
  • Assist in the review of various legal documents to ensure proper lien on collateral of loan client such as well agreements, trusts, title work/deeds, etc.
  • Type correspondence including memos, letters, mailings and file comments.
  • Read and route incoming mail and emails. Fed Ex loan documents to customers, title companies and others as needed.
  • Organize and maintain file system, filing correspondence and other records utilizing Encompass, Microsoft Outlook and branch downloads file.
  • Courteously answer and screen telephone calls.
  • Courteously greet scheduled visitors and direct to appropriate area or person. Assist Mortgage Loan Officer in scheduling appointments with customers.
  • Close HELOC and other loans as needed by mortgage loan officer.
  • Notarize signatures for loan closings and customers.
  • Conduct research on file history in preparation for client meeting, in response to auditory inquiries and/or to assist in file documentation.
  • Assist borrowers in set up of mortgage loan payments.
  • Assist mortgage loan officer with loan exceptions and communicate with appropriate team members/borrowers in that regard.
  • Make copies/scan correspondence or other printed materials. Upload to appropriate file/folder. Communicate with team members when docs are available.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes for loan officers.
  • Assist mortgage loan officer in preparing for presentations and marking/business development efforts.

 

Qualifications for Success:

Associates Degree in business related field plus additional bank-related training and secretarial training; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
