Job Description
Music Library Internship - Summer 2026
Job Description
The Library Intern will support the day-to-day activities of the Nashville Symphony’s music library. The music library plays an essential behind-the-scenes role in preparing, organizing, and maintaining the music used for Nashville Symphony performances.
This internship is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented student with a strong interest in classical music, music libraries, or orchestra operations to gain hands-on experience in a professional performing arts environment. The intern will assist Symphony librarians with a variety of music preparation and cataloging tasks, including transferring bow markings into string parts, photocopying scores and parts, cataloging music, compiling and breaking down orchestral folders, making repairs to music, and other duties as directed by the Nashville Symphony librarians.
Start and end dates of the internship can vary based on the intern’s academic schedule but will tentatively begin in May or early June and conclude by July 31.
This internship is estimated at 120 total hours, or 10–15 hours per week. Required hours may be adjusted if necessary for academic credit.
Internship compensation is $10/hour.
