Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services is seeking an Electrician in Arlington, VA. This position is responsible for performing daily electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and minor construction projects across office and mission-critical environments. The role supports the operation, maintenance, and repair of building electrical systems and equipment, working under the direction of the Electrical Foreman. This position is a covered by the CBA for Local 26

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in a safe and workmanlike manner within established time and material budgets.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on building electrical systems and associated equipment.
- Repair and maintain electrical fixtures, components, and distribution systems.
- Install new electrical devices and equipment as required.
- Assist Engineers and HVAC Mechanics with the maintenance of mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests.
- Support electrical preventive maintenance testing, including emergency power and UPS systems.
- Maintain electrical rooms and common areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Must be available for emergency callbacks and overtime as directed.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia)
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical support functions within office buildings and/or data center environments.
- Service truck experience accepted. One (1) year of construction trades experience may be substituted.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly and prioritize tasks
Physical Demands
- Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
