Performs all functions related to machine preparation and turnaround for DMLS printing machines.
Setups and operates additive manufacturing machines, machining centers, and post machining operations, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and layout techniques.
Starts and observes all equipment to detect malfunctions and adjust machine controls or control media, as required.
Inspects product utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished product.
Follows proper safety procedures while working with powdered metals.
Operates equipment and processes within validated parameters, using validated settings and process controls to assure repeatability of machine performance.
Maintains and checks machine readiness to ensure functionality and performance.
Completes all essential documentation as required, including process monitoring logs.
Follows all policies and procedures and takes safety precautions to reduce risk of injury.
Maintains a clean work area and assures safe operation of all equipment.
Follows line clearance procedures to ensure product does not get mixed.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
Maintains lot control of materials/product associated with the manufacturing process.
Performs all sub-processes post printing, as required.
Accurate and timely completion of daily, weekly, monthly preventive maintenance activities.
