Specialist, Licensing & Community Relations (18‑Month Contract) for our location in Peterborough. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes. Location: Peterborough, ON Our Role: The Specialist, Licensing & Community Relations (18‑Month Contract) will report to the Vice President, Brand & Communications. The position will support the BWXT Commercial Operations Communications & Government Relations department in the development, more specifically the BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. and BWXT Medical Ltd. divisions. The position’s primary focus will be to help develop, maintain and support initiatives outlined in each licensed company's Public Information & Disclosure Programs. Duties include the development, coordination and distribution/execution of internal and external communications and events, including but not limited to: stakeholder communications; internal communications; external publications; the public website content; tradeshows; conferences; facility tours; internal events; community events; media events; PowerPoint presentations; etc. Your Day to Day: Communications Support: Support site-specific communications (email, portal and e-boards) for BWXT NEC and BWXT Medical. Participate on the Indigenous Relations Committee and support BWXT’s Indigenous Relations Roadmap and PAIR certification. Support the Canada Contribution & Membership program, including the development of annual forecast, responses to community requests, issuance of payments in line with budget and forecasting, obtaining approvals for new requests, coordination of sponsorship and event staffing requirements and branding. Support internal employee events for BWXT NEC and BWXT Medical. Public Information and Disclosure Program & Regulatory Support: Support successful implementation of the Public Information and Disclosure Programs for BWXT NEC in Peterborough and Toronto, and BWXT Medical in Kanata. This includes community events and meetings, facility tours, speaking opportunities, public mailings, community support, Community Liaison Committee coordination, website updates, volunteer event coordination, and more. Annually support updates to the Public Information and Disclosure Program for BWXT NEC and BWXT Medical. Support BWXT NEC and BWXT Medical community website maintenance, including updates and posts. Support content development and posting for BWXT NEC’s Facebook Group and Targeted Advertising. Uphold commitments listed within the PIDP by executing deliverables within communications plans. Support the receipt and response to public inquiries. Support updates to stakeholder listing and track stakeholder engagement. Support the Community Liaison Committee (CLC) program, including recruiting CLC members, coordinating meetings, following up on actions, taking minutes, and evaluating performance. Assist senior leadership with regulatory meetings and hearings by assisting with presentations, collection and dissemination of interventions, and background information pertaining to the PIDP. Assist Vice President, Government Relations, with Indigenous Relations in support of PIDP and overall company goals. Be an active participant in emergency response drills (media and public disclosure response). Act as a site representative for the crisis communications team and support emergency response communications for BWXT NEC and BWXT Medical. File all correspondence to and from CNSC, stakeholders, media, etc. in accordance with PIDP housekeeping. Assist with the development, roll-out, reviews and approval of public polling, analyze data. Administration Support: Support invoice processing and budget planning for PIDP-related items. Required Qualifications:
