Your impact
As a key member of the Maintenance team, reporting to the Conveyor Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the specialist splicing, maintenance, and reliability of conveyor belt systems across the operation. Your expertise will directly support safe and efficient production through high‑quality planned maintenance, servicing, repairs, and shutdown activities.
You will ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with site standards and procedures, contributing to reliable conveyor performance and safe production outcomes.
As part of our team you will
- Perform belt splicing and specialist conveyor maintenance, including idlers, scrapers, and associated components
- Carry out hot and cold vulcanising on steel‑cord and heavy‑fabric conveyor belts
- Conduct scraper inspections, servicing, adjustments, and blade replacements
- Perform equipment condition audits on pulleys, rollers, tracking frames, skirting, and conveyor infrastructure
- Complete rubber skirting inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal belt performance
- Proactively identify, report, and recommend solutions to conveyor issues through preventative maintenance inspections
- Follow, review, and contribute to improvements in belt change‑out and repair procedures
- Provide technical input and hands‑on expertise to determine the most effective belt repair solutions
- Support shutdown planning and execution, working collaboratively with the wider maintenance and operations teams
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a conveyor maintenance or belt splicing role
- Demonstrated experience splicing and repairing steel‑cord and heavy‑fabric conveyor belts
- High Risk Work Licence – Dogging, Rigging and Forklift
- Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
- Current C‑Class and HR driver’s licence
Desirable:
- OEM or specialist training in conveyor systems and belt splicing practices
Your work environment
This role is based at Boddington Gold Mine and operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster, offering long‑term stability within a large‑scale operation. You’ll be part of a high‑performing processing maintenance team in a technically complex gold operation that places strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
You may choose to live locally and commute daily, or, if based outside the local area, stay in Village accommodation for your roster under a DIDO arrangement.
