About Lihir

 

Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Lihir offers a range of recreational facilities, including a gym, sports club, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course. Purpose

 

Oversee condition monitoring activities to ensure equipment reliability and performance.

Essential Duties

 

  • Monitor equipment condition monitoring to ensure optimal performance
  • Adhere to compliance with safety protocols during condition monitoring
  • Execute routine maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment
  • Collate and report data on equipment condition
  • Support in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues
  • Liaise with maintenance team for equipment repairs
  • Schedule and complete condition monitoring tasks
  • Provide new employees with condition monitoring procedures
  • Execute regular inspections of equipment condition
  • Assess relevant risks, implement mitigation measures, and continuously monitor for risks
  • Explain the purpose of the work of your team and how it adds value to the business.
  • Encourage your team members to identify critical issues which will affect the work.
  • Allocate work to your team members from the plan set by the manager.
  • Review how team members are performing with their work. Recognise team members for work done well.
  • Actively contribute to establishing and maintaining a positive and productive team working environment.
Training & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • Experience within developing and managing commercial models.Several years of experience in project management, resource allocation, risk mitigation, health and safety protocols and industry standards. 
  • Competent ability to interact, influence and resolve conflict with various stakeholders.
  • Competent and advanced experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Understanding of condition monitoring technologyAdvanced stakeholder engagement and service skills
  • Advanced understanding of project management, resource coordination, and risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical proficiency in project planning, delivery, tracking and monitoring, data recording and reporting.
  • Competent knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for performance. Competent knowledge of health, safety, environment and sustainability regulations and practices.
  • Competent understand of project cost management and financial principles.
  • Driving License
