Job Description

SUMMARY:

This primary purpose of this position will be to accurately upload all personnel files into Frontline. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must have passed or be able to pass competency tests pursuant to 18A-4-8e.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be considered in accordance with 18A-4-8b.
  • Criminal Background Check conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-G-4
  • Drug Test conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-H-1. 

SALARY: State Scale 

TERM: June 15, 2026-July 31, 2026 as needed not to exceed 120 hours. 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Personnel Director

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: 

  • Act as receptionist for incoming public and telephone calls.
  • Type, file and distribute a wide variety of correspondence
  • Maintain records.
  • Organize and prepare materials for meetings.
  • Accurately record financial activities.
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Enter, maintain and retrieve computer documents.
  • Prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, charts, expense forms, booklets.
  • Purchase orders, business forms, certificates, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain positive work habits.
  • Maintain and/or upgrade skills.
  • Perform any and all other job related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or superintendent. 

 

Secretary II WV Code 18-A-4-8

A person employed in any elementary, secondary, kindergarten, nursery, special education, vocational, or any other school as a secretary. The duties may include performing general clerical tasks; transcribing from notes, stenotype, mechanical equipment or a sound producing machine; preparing reports; receiving callers and referring to proper persons; operating office machines; keeping records and handling routine correspondence. Nothing in this subdivision prevents a service person holding or being elevated to a higher classification.
