The Utah Department of Corrections is looking to hire 1 Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCT) to provide treatment to inmates who are in the Sex Offense Treatment Unit. Principle Duties: As the Therapist you will provide sex offense focused group and individual therapy sessions. You will help in facilitating and maintaining the therapeutic community model with incarcerated prison inmates with convictions for sex offenses. You will document the progress of group and client's progress; conduct assessments; treatment planning and discharges. You will work as part of a large team to challenge and change irrational thought patterns and behaviors, address risk connected to sexual recidivism and to build protective factors among the clients in the program. The Therapist will also help conduct other support groups, and provide crisis management and conflict resolution services with the clients. Licensure as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Mental Health Counselor required. The Therapist position is NOT public safety certified, and does not require peace officer status or certification. The Ideal Candidate will: Hold a Licensure as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Speak and write effectively. Have experience working in a residential therapeutic community program. Have the ability to maintain detailed records. Have the ability to balance groups, individual sessions and keeping up with documentation due dates. Work as a team player. Be detail oriented. Be open to feedback for continuous quality improvement regarding evidence based best practices. Be familiar with risk assessments predictive of sexual recidivism. Have knowledge specific to criminal justice involved individuals in addressing crimongenic risk, needs and responsivity factors. Be trauma informed. Be familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Motivational Interviewing, Social Learning, and Risk-Needs-Responsivity as it relates to sex offense treatment. Preference Preference may be given to those applicants who have experience working with clients in sex offense treatment. Positions may be filled as a Caseworker III upon the qualification of the applicant. The Caseworker III shall be Licensed as Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Certified Social Worker. The starting salary for a Caseworker III is $23.24.
