Job Description

Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: 1. Help with animal unloading and in performing necropsies (animal postmortem examinations). 2. Keep the necropsy area clean and tidy. 3. Assist with private cremations including cremains processing. 4. Serve as back-up technician for serology and microbiology sections. 5. Answer phone and direct phone calls as needed. 6. Assist with storage of old cases and logbooks. 7. Accession new cases and enter test results of current cases into the laboratory’s information management system. 8. Greet clients and assist them in filling out submission forms. 9. Participate in the laboratory’s quality system. 10. Fill pipette tip dispensers, wash glassware, and ensure general laboratory cleanliness. 11. Centrifuge blood samples to separate serum and plasma from blood cells. 12. Back-up for serology, bacteriology, and molecular sections 13.. Use Microsoft Word and Excel.
