Job Description
As Junior IT Facilities / Helpdesk Level 2 Engineer, you will join the infrastructure operations team supporting the IT environments of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
You will participate in the daily operations of IT rooms and provide Level 2 operational support activities, ensuring operational continuity and efficient incident resolution.
Your responsibilities will include:
IT Facilities Activities
- Support day-to-day operations within Data Centers and IT rooms
- Assist with hardware installation, cabling and equipment moves
- Follow asset lifecycle processes (installation, relocation, decommissioning)
- Maintain asset inventory and CMDB information
- Participate in rack organization and cabling management
- Support capacity monitoring (rack space, power and cooling)
- Ensure documentation is updated (procedures, inventories, rack layouts)
Helpdesk Level 2 / Operations Activities
- Handle and resolve Level 2 incidents and service requests
- Perform first analysis, troubleshooting and escalation of infrastructure incidents
- Monitor operational alerts and follow-up on incidents impacting production services
- Support daily operations related to Windows infrastructure, DNS and Active Directory environments
- Participate in incident management, troubleshooting and PIR activities
- Coordinate with infrastructure and support teams during operational incidents
- Follow operational procedures, change management and escalation processes
- Participate in service monitoring, reporting and operational follow-up
- Contribute to service continuity and platform stability within the European Parliament environment
Profile
- Junior profile with first experience or internship in IT support, infrastructure or facilities
- Good motivation to learn infrastructure and operational activities
- Organized and rigorous mindset
- Customer-oriented and good communication skills
- Ability to work in operational and sometimes stressful environments
- Autonomous and proactive attitude
- Willingness to work in an international and operational environment
Technical Skills
Nice to have knowledge or interest in:
- Windows Server environments
- Active Directory and DNS fundamentals
- IT monitoring and supervision tools
- Ticketing and incident management tools (ServiceNow is a plus)
- Basic networking knowledge
- Structured cabling and hardware handling
- CMDB / asset inventory management
- Operational support processes and troubleshooting methodologies
- Infrastructure environments (Data Center, virtualization or enterprise IT operations)
Languages
- French: mandatory
- English: good knowledge
